Business Storytelling:

Influencing & Engaging Audiences

Influencing & Engaging Audiences

Every day we need to connect with our colleagues, our managers, company leaders and clients. We do that through business communications that can take the form of email, presentations, meetings, or other channels.

Most people create at least one presentation a week. And the average person sends about 40 business-related emails each day.

Unfortunately, many people aren’t skilled at creating clear, compelling and effective business communications that actually achieve specific goals like:

  • Informing or engaging audiences
  • Requesting input
  • Securing support for ideas
  • Spurring a change in behavior or action, or
  • Driving decision-making

Does this sound like you?

  • Your emails don’t receive the response you want
  • Your audience isn’t paying attention to you
  • Decisions you need don’t happen or are delayed
  • You’re missing out on opportunities for advancement
  • Your data isn’t telling the right story
  • You struggle to prioritize your thoughts and ideas into a coherent message

What if you could have the simple framework and proven tools I use with my own clients – the techniques I use to craft a good story that helps audiences relate to the issues or problems being presented, making it easier for them to pay attention, to understand and support the ideas or information being shared?

Business Storytelling: Influencing & Engaging Audiences covers:

  • Why using storytelling in business communication is so effective
  • A simple, repeatable framework for incorporating story into your business communications
  • How purposeful content creation leads to better outcomes with your audience, such as decisions, action, or support for your ideas
  • Design principles and a presentation structure that will convey your message effectively, and
  • How to use the story framework and other tips you learn to write better emails and meeting invitations

While this course is more focused on content development and writing, and not about presentation skills, your presentation game will be elevated when you are confident in your story and your content.
